MUD DRAGS
Like most four-wheeler enthusiasts needed an excuse to get dirty? Well
if they did the SC Fair is offering a prime opportunity during the first annual
Mud Drags to be held Friday, July 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds as part of
the 125th annual festivities at the site.
Area riders will get a chance to test their skills and get dirty in the
process. The competition will feature three divisions in both the 4x4 and
2x4 categories.
A youth division will allow area youngsters between the ages of 12-15 to
compete in either the 4x4 or the 2x4 class with a machine at 300cc or under.
The Factory Class will bring out the everyday rider. There will be four
divisions in the class. Racers can compete at 149cc and under.
150cc-249cc, 350cc-449cc or 450cc and up in either 4x4 or 2x4. They will
be limited to standard equipment. No paddle tires, ag tires or aggressive
mud tire will be allowed.
Those will be saved for the Open Class. Riders in the Open Class can
take part at the 349cc and under or in the 350cc and over class either as a 4x4
or 2x4.
The cost of the event is 5.00. Riders may pre-register by sending their
entry to
George Meier
RR1 Box 59c
Memphis, MO
no later than June 21st.
The Mud Drags will require that all riders wear a helmet as will as a face
shield or goggles.
All participating ATV's must have a tow loop on the front of the machine in
order to compete.
