THE AUTOMATICS After a brilliant debut performance at the Missouri Association of Fairs and Festivals in January 2003, word quickly spread throughout the regional music industry that The Automatics featuring Spike Blake were on their way to becoming KC's forerunner in the R&B/ Party Band Category. The band will try to win over the SC Fair fans as they will be performing a free concert at the SC Fair Thursday July 3 beginning at 8:30 p.m. The Automatics song list includes dozens of the most memorable R&B based "party songs" of all time including "Land of a Thousand Dances", "Mustang Sally", "I Feel Good", and "Dancin' in the Streets". Yet the group delivers inspired versions of some slower R&B hits like "Dock of the Bay" and "My Girl" as wll as a select list of Spike's "hit quality" original tunes.
